Terms of Use
Last updated October 31, 2026
These terms cover your use of WordVote (wordvote.org). By using WordVote, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
Who can use WordVote
- You must be at least 13 years old.
- WordVote is currently available only in the United States.
Your posts
- Posts are public. What you post can appear, without your name, in other people's search results and in public post counts and trends.
- You keep ownership of what you write. By posting, you give WordVote a free, worldwide, non-exclusive, ongoing permission to store, display, analyze and count your post, and to include it in summaries and statistics about what people are saying.
- You're responsible for what you post. Only post things you have the right to share.
What's not allowed
Don't post or use WordVote for:
- Anything illegal, or anything that encourages illegal activity.
- Harassment, threats, or hate directed at a person or group.
- Sexually explicit content.
- Personal information about anyone, including yourself: names, addresses, phone numbers or emails.
- Spam, advertising, or links.
- Content that infringes someone else's copyright or other rights.
- Automated or scripted posting, or any attempt to get around posting limits or to manipulate the counts.
We may hide or remove any post, at any time, for any reason, including posts that break these rules. We may also limit or block access for anyone who misuses the site.
About the numbers
WordVote counts posts that an AI system judges to be similar in meaning. The counts are informal: they reflect what people chose to post here, not a scientific poll or a representative sample of any population, and the similarity matching can make mistakes.
Copyright complaints
If you believe a post infringes your copyright, email hello@wordvote.org with the post's exact text, the work you believe it infringes, and your contact information. We'll review it and remove infringing content.
No warranty
WordVote is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We don't promise the site will always be available, error-free, or that the counts are accurate.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, WordVote and the people who run it are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, or for content posted by other users.
Donations
Donations support the cost of running WordVote. They are voluntary, don't buy any special access or features, and are not tax-deductible.
Changes
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page. Using WordVote after a change means you accept the updated terms.
